FLASH

The FLASH is used as optical start device and manly used additional to an acoustic start device (e.g. start gun). It is most common in sports like athletics and swimming.
An absolute necessity is the FLASH for races with deaf sports persons or if the manual stop watch has to be started far away from the start sound. If you use e.g. the start sound the triggering of the stopwatch will be delayed due to the slow movement of the sound. Light is much faster you will have no delay.
The FLASH is triggered by an external impulse device (e.g. start gun or push button). If it receives within 5 seconds a second impulse it will make five additional flashes as sign for a false start.
The FLASH has 80 LED (Light Emitting Diode) built in a case. The LED are extra bright so they will be good visible at sun light. It has different sockets for the start impulse signal. The power supply can be through 4 internal AA-batteries or direct from the timing device with low power. This allows the use the FLASH next to a swimming pool.
