Stop
Motion Control Device ARGUS

ARGUS Controller
ARGUS Indicator
Since the fifties, ALGE stop motion control
devices for embroidery machines have been leaders on the market. Our
experience on the field of thread supervision and our deep knowledge of
the embroidery industry, together with the most modern electronics,
have now enabled us to develop a very new pioneering stop motion
control device:
ARGUS, the stop motion control
device of the future, for embroidery machines of any make and type,
with integrated production data collection.
ARGUS
- saves personnel
- adds clarity to your calculations
- reduces the cost
- improves the quality
- helps to find out weaknesses
- ARGUS recognizes immediately the occurrence of thread breakages
or loose threads, even on most modern, high-speed embroidery machines
or embroidery machines with color and repeat change systems.
- The device signals the thread breakage acoustically and
optically. The optical fault message is preserved. The acoustic signal
can be switched off.
- Collective alarm for a central fault message, e.g. extensive
signaling by means of an alarm lamp.
- The automatic stop provides the cutoff of the embroidery machine
in case of thread breakage. The number of "faulty stitches" to precede
the machine cutoff can be preselected. This function can be deactivated.
- The separate signaling unit "INDICATOR" can be placed at the best
visible position. Moreover, a second INDICATOR can be added optionally.
The control device "CONTROLLER" is accommodated at a place easily
accessible, near the command central or at the machine end.
- The thread supervision can be separately activated for each
individual sector. This means that those sectors can be switched off
where no embroidery takes place.
- Automatic cutoff of the embroidery machine by the electronic
switch clock, at the time preselected by you.
- Test with regard to a reduced insulating resistance between bars
and machine mass to detect any soilings which could impede proper
function.
- A code* is provided to prevent any unintentional or unauthorized
variation of the preselected parameters.
(* The code protection can be deactivated)
- Information which can be read directly from the ARGUS CONTROLLER:
- Machine speed (rpm)
- Time of day
- Date
- 4 stitch counters (one counter per shift)
1 summation counter (without reset possibility)
- 4 revolution counters (one counter per shift)
1 revolution summation counter (without reset possibility)
- Information which can be input directly from the ARGUS
CONTROLLER:
- Design number (eight digit)
- Stop reasons A - F
- Working shifts 1 - 4
- Production data which can be called in over the computer
interface. This requires a PC as well as the evaluation program ARGWIN
(available from ALGE).
- Machine stops
- Design changes
- Machine start
- The electronic clock continuos its function even with cut-off
device. Clock and data memory are battery buffered.
- All set values of the ARGUS can be modified externally (central)
through the ARGWIN software.
The
principle of function:
- Each thread is controlled by an electromechanical contact (switch
bar). In case of thread breakage, this one makes contact over the
machine mass (control rail).
- At the embroidery machine, all the threads are tensed only during
a short moment of the stitching cycle. The fault interrogation must
take place exactly during this period. ARGUS seizes this moment by
means of an electronic contact transmitter (sensor).
- Should a thread breakage occur, it is evaluated through the
central electronics (CONTROLLER) and signaled acoustically and
optically by means of the indication panel (INDICATOR). Each machine
sector disposes of its own indicating section allowing a quick
localization and discover of the broken thread.
