The Three-Fold-Photocell consists of photocells arranged on top of each other built into the same case. There are two different types of the Three-Fold-Photocell. One type called RLS3c gives only a impulse if all 3 built-in photocells are covered simultaneously. The other type RLS3c-s has two switchable functions. One function receives the impulse if all 3 photocells are covered, the other function makes an impulse if any photocell is covered.

The Three-Fold-Photocell has two identical DIN-sockets. If you use ALGE timing devices it is possible to supply the photocell direct form the timer up to a distance of 30 m. If you need a cable length over 30 m it is necessary to supply the photocell external. For this purpose you can use e.g. an ALGE net-charging-set NLG8, or any 12 V Battery.
The Three-Fold-Photocell RLS3c is designed for athletic. It consists of three on top of each other mounted reflection photocells. These three photocells are connected that an impulse is given when all three cells are covered at the same time. In order to get the next impulse all three cells must be free again. This special design prevents impulses of parts of the body like arms and legs.

The Three-Fold-Photocell RLS3c-s consists of three on top of each other mounted reflection photocells. The integrated circuit can be switched for to different operation modes.
Mode 1:
The three photocells are connected that an impulse is given when all three cells are covered at the same time. In order to get the next impulse all three cells must be free again (e.g. for athletic)
Mode 2:
The three photocells are working individual, this means if you cover one photocell beam you will get an impulse (e.g. for soccer ball speed, agility, horse races, etc.).
